[well, all this sure is happening! he's not sure he knows what 'this' is, but it's very much happening, and he's awake far too early for his tastes, out here without even dressing properly-- he absolutely cannot be in public like this. he can't see it but he's certain his hair's a mess, too.]

[it's early morning, which means nikki is still barefoot and still in her fancy-ass pajamas since she hasn't changed into her mourning dress yet. when nie huaisang calls, she is indeed within earshot, and she hurries over to him]
