[Nie Huaisang is here on the first floor, immediately yelling for a certain little gold asshole and looking absolutely terrified while he does. He's just peering into doorways, not-so-quietly panicking...]
[ Ayabe's milling around, rubbing his back like he's old and definitely feels it now. He hears Nie Huaisang long before he sees him, but can't bring himself to run or wave or do anything until he's in earshot. ]
Calm down. He was with me last night. What happened? Why do you need him?
[ please don't tell Jin Ling that Ayabe snitched, he would never hear the end of it ]
At least you're safe. That was his main priority, you know? He wanted to make sure you stayed safe... so we staked out the hallways so we could... stop this from happening.
[ Nie Huaisang is probably a nervous wreck and Ayabe really can't blame him. He goes to find him in the garden outside; it's cold and quiet and that's a little what he feels right now, trudging down the path before Nie Huisang. ]
[ He would have walked right past or turned around if he didn't want to, but he does, taking a seat next to Nie Huaisang and glancing over at the blank paper before staring down at his own hands in his lap. ]
nie huaisang is easy to find, this week, busy hanging out on the newest floor; he's most often in the drawing room, but really, we can put this anywhere. whether he's busy with Art or just investigating beauty products or museum displays, he glances over when he realizes he's not alone, and looks relieved to see that it's ayabe.]
Oh- good morning. [it's like, noon.] Have you seen this room yet, young master Ayabe? Really, I don't know why we couldn't have all of this first...
[ The drawing room is one of the places on the newest floor that Ayabe finds himself drawn to- he's not an avid artist by any means, like he'd said he was only taking an art elective in school, but the atmosphere is calm and he likes that. Paper and paints, chill vibes. ]
Good- [ he stops and frowns ] afternoon, Nie Huaisang. It's already noon. Did you just wake up?
[ Ayabe HMMMs, but silently, in the back of his mind. It's always weird babying people older than him, but then he thinks about Ken and the adults are the ones who need guidance the most.
It's fine. The time before lunch sort of blurs together, 7-9 is pretty slow, and then suddenly it becomes 11, then skips to 4, and then somehow becomes night where 6-12 is one long hour. ]
I guess not... In a place like this, you're free to do what you want.
[ He goes over and looks around at the canvases, for something thick and sturdy that can hold paint. ]
[ Yes, but to an extent. Ayabe looks from the spider lilies to his own blank canvas and decides he might as well do something similar, something simple like tulips in a summer field, pink and orange. ]
On Saturdays and Sundays, right? I don't trust that... that we're being compelled to do things against our will. Like we all have the monster inside us to begin with.
[welcome back to the bloody room! It's... bloodier! It looks, in fact, like someone has drawn a complicated symbol out of blood on the floor since earlier today. Weird.
Nie Huaisang pokes his head in the door, blinking when he spots Ayabe. Oh no. He got to it first.
Well, time to pretend he didn't do this!]
Oh, young master Ayabe-- do you need any help?
[his mask, for the record, matches his face well enough it's almost hard to see at a glance. it kind of gives him a perpetually worried expression, but up close its cracked edges are visible.]
[ Ayabe looks up at him, the black mask over half his face containing more cracks than there were the day before, but the anger on his face has melted into something... emptier. Exhaustion, really, but he straightens up when he hears Nie Huaisang enter. ]
Actually, yeah. Can you take this bucket next door and fill it up with water? There's a spot here where the blood's finally coming off.
It doesn't have to be a full bucket, just half or a quarter will do.
[ That should make it a little easier to carry back. It's not good for the floors to be too wet anyways, so he just needs enough water to dampen his wash cloths and rub as much of this blood off that he can. ]
There's this spot right here, [ in the center of the room? where is this blood circle and how large is it... ] I tried yesterday, but maybe it just needed time to lift a little.
[ This is the most terrible room so far. But at least for Ayabe, as he's cleaning and the blood is actually lifting off the ground and into the cloth, he looks a lot calmer as he works. It's zen. He finds his happy place in this blood soaked room. ]
w2, friday
[Nie Huaisang is here on the first floor, immediately yelling for a certain little gold asshole and looking absolutely terrified while he does. He's just peering into doorways, not-so-quietly panicking...]
Young master Jin, where did you run off to!
no subject
Calm down. He was with me last night. What happened? Why do you need him?
no subject
[Ayabe is a Good Responsible Boy. Huaisang sighs, exhaling heavily.]
I was afraid something else kept him away last night.
no subject
He didn't tell you? I thought he would have. He was with me, Ash, and Toi.
[ Jin Ling was having a sleepover and didn't invite Nie Huaisang and now Ayabe feels a little bad about it. ]
Was everything alright in your room? That's why he didn't say anything, probably... He wanted to make sure you were safe.
no subject
[He is going to have a TALK with Jin Ling, oh my god.]
I was hoping I could bring him back before that happened.
no subject
At least you're safe. That was his main priority, you know? He wanted to make sure you stayed safe... so we staked out the hallways so we could... stop this from happening.
[ They sure failed! Three bodies, man. ]
no subject
[his face falls at that, because it means there really might be nothing they can do... but then his eyes widen a little as he realizes something.]
Wait, you were just out there in the open-- you're all lucky nothing happened to you!

Young master Ayabe.
no subject
Hey. Can I sit down?
no subject
[he looks a little surprised by that, though, not entirely expecting anyone to actually want his company right now.]
no subject
Were you going to draw?
no subject
[shaky hands and all. he glances down at the paper, though.]
I've always liked landscapes and plants.

[it's a mystery, but ayabe really might not be wrong. nie huaisang gestures for him to come over, though, indicating a seat next to him.]
It doesn't matter, does it? Here, come paint with me.

It's fine. The time before lunch sort of blurs together, 7-9 is pretty slow, and then suddenly it becomes 11, then skips to 4, and then somehow becomes night where 6-12 is one long hour. ]

[he can be as lazy as he feels like! he just hums as he continues to paint; it's a spider lily, from the look of it.]
Well, except for when they wake us themselves, I suppose...

[But he'll pick up this bucket for Ayabe, because at least it's not scrubbing. Lesser of two evils-- er, chores.
He returns shortly, dragging the bucket.]
Where is it coming off?
no subject
[ That should make it a little easier to carry back. It's not good for the floors to be too wet anyways, so he just needs enough water to dampen his wash cloths and rub as much of this blood off that he can. ]
There's this spot right here, [ in the center of the room? where is this blood circle and how large is it... ] I tried yesterday, but maybe it just needed time to lift a little.

Nie Huaisang peers at it curiously, humming under his breath.]
Oh, that's interesting... maybe the rest will start to lift, too?
