It's been a necessity. How I feel about it hasn't exactly mattered.

But I guess I can understand prioritizing necessity.

My feelings wouldn't matter if I wasn't alive to have them. Jin Guangyao removed every potential threat to his power-- if anyone got too close and then slipped, we would both have died in some sort of unfortunate 'accident', because it took time for anyone to be willing to hear that he wasn't who they thought.

The people who might have listened were either dead, too honest for their own good, or too easily provoked into making mistakes.

And what about the future? It seems as though you've succeeded in your revenge.

It seems like it, but I haven't seen him die-- I don't know for sure that I live.

[he's not going to trust everything won't go upside-down at the last possible moment, or that jin guangyao won't find a way to drag him down as well.]

...but I'll have my sect to run. I'm sure they'll be relieved to find they have a more competent leader than they've thought, over the last ten years... and we'll have the Chief Cultivator's position to fill as well, after his death.
