Perhaps there's less trust in the promise of doing something additional for us than there was in the promise of relief from something this place was already doing to us. We know the latter happens, but...
[a brief pause.]
Well, killing someone else here is a large risk to take, if you're not positive you'll actually get what you wanted.
... Well, whatever the reason, I'm glad no one took the risk. Whatever the reward would've been, I'm pretty sure it would be a twisted version of the promised "freedom".
[he doesn't want to repeat the experience, thank you!!]
I'm sure you're right, though. If we've been given these curses and told to kill to have them removed-- I doubt there's anything benevolent behind any kind of offer.
[but, hm. nie huaisang's brow furrows.]
...this one didn't work. I have to wonder if that means we'll just go back to what did seem to, or if... the promise will be more appealing.
... I really hope they don't escalate, but that might be wishful thinking. Guess we'll see in a few days.
Though it'd help if we knew why we were being encouraged to kill in the first place. And the tools given to us to help save lives—are they from the same entity, or do we have multiple parties at work here?
Multiple parties, unless whatever's encouraging us to kill just enjoys playing with us more when there's a little hope to keep us going.
[big shrug, there, just lightly fanning himself.]
But I think... well, it was mentioned from the start that things were off, wasn't it? By the girls. And then what was brought up about some of those notes possibly being planted... I do think it sounds like something or someone else has a hand in it all.
We just don't have any idea what, or why. There has to be something to gain from trying to make us kill, even if it's just-- sick enjoyment.
Yeah, it all seems pretty complicated. But because it's so complicated, you're right—there has to be more to this. There are way simpler methods of sadism, if it was just that.

I need to speak with miss Pumpkin already, so-- I'll find out what she thinks, too.

Good idea. I've got one or two people over there I might want to write a letter to, anyway.
